I was wondering of the best way to clean Apple Watch Bands of various kinds without damaging or discoloring them.

Sport Bands

Sport Loops

Leather bands (Modern Buckle, Classic Buckle)

I just use a good leather cleaner on leather bands to keep it supple. For the sports bands, just water and a wipe down with a cloth is fine

Can you recommend a good leather cleaner?

Any good leather cream will suffice. I use Meguiars Gold Class Rich leather cleaner which is a leather cleaner for cars. It's superb and you only need to use a dab of it once a week to keep the leather soft.
Have a look on Amazon for leather cleaner products and go on what the reviews say

Sport Bands - Mr Clean Magic Eraser has done really well for my sport bands, both Apple Official and 3rd Party Bands

Sport Loops - Run them through the washing machine with a load of laundry, I just put them in my shorts cargo pocket. Works for Apple Official and 3rd Party Bands

does the magic eraser cause discoloring?

Don't use the magic eraser it takes the coating off on the real bands.

use peroxide wipes they clean well and aren't harsh

thats what i thought! i remember i used to clean my pink sand sport band with magic eraser and it came out discolored..i wondered if it was just the band..

For the leather ones I use leather purse cleaner wipes. It cleans and conditions at the same time. They come in little sheets. The silicone ones I just wash off under the sink and then dry off. Never have cleaned my sport loop.

Is it true that the Milanese Loop and the SS link band are not water resistant and shouldn't be washed?

I got a Milanese Loop with my first Apple Watch, Series 0 on launch day. Granted, it's not my daily driver so it doesn't get that much use, but I've always rinsed it in warm water when I remove it to switch to another band, then pat dry-ish with a towel and air dry before putting it in its box (I have the original plastic box it came in). There are some scratches on the tab at the end of the band but it otherwise looks new.

For the Sport Band, just some water and detergent and occasional bleach for my white band. I wouldn't use a Magic Eraser as it's abrasive.

The Sport Loops I just throw in the washing machine with my clothes.

I put my sport bands and my milanese loops in my 2.5L Harbor Freight sonic cleaner with a little dish washing detergent. This was the first time I cleaned my 3rd party milanese loop from my S0 watch. It was amazing how much crud floated off of it. I had to run it 3-4 times before it was clean.
